i've never seen the get famous trailer before and it blows my mind how often we hear that animations were recycled because they're "too expensive" and yet......... we have facial expressions here that are serious and subtle that i don't think i've ever seen in the sims 4.

The mermaids got me excited since even though it is the Sims 4 I thought they would be at least as fleshed out as the Vampires...but no they just sing and have a conch shell. Also that "not real gameplay" stinks we never see actual gameplay in these trailers and the streams are with basegame plus said pack so they don't encounter Judith Ward and Marcus Flex everywhere 😂

you know those mobile games that have amazing trailers that make you think the game is gonna be awesome and full of action and then it's just bejeweled with a different look or some fighting type game where the only thing you do is tap several times on the screen to attack, that's what the sims 4 trailers are on the level of

They're never gonna add any real weight to the sims 4 because the AI is so poor, because it was built on an engine designed as a Multiplayer game. But no one was complaining about the lack of Deep AI back in 2014, (we had other things to complain about). Now finally people are starting to see that every system in the sims 4 is the same. your sims have all these traits and icons and stuff that all result in giving your sim a moodlet. Moodlets have no weight because Sims are just little robots that go through the same limited animations which only are different for male and female. I'm sure they have great ideas for the sims 5, like story progression, a Cause/effect system, memory system that impacts behavior and relationship interactions, But the fact they've been doing only destination expansions shows that they can hardly alter The Sims 4's Core anymore cause it's becoming a mess.

I love that the team is putting effort into promoting, but IMO when you animate sims for artworks or add plenty of sims to the world in trailers, when in reality it's not the case, it sets the expectations apart. Bc you know they do special stuff to make the DLC look attractive but if you look at other games, regardless of simulation, if they're so good they don't need the added exaggeration since the content speaks for it self..
