A short animation showing how the sustainable tropical farming technique of Inga alley cropping works. First of all of course the Inga trees are planted in rows with spaces in between. The animation shows 3 years of repeated cropping, illustrated by two trees and the alley between them. The system keeps going for many more years. It increases the yield, and the farmer can stay put on one plot so he does not need to burn more rainforest. A win-win for everybody. See http://rainforestsaver.org for more details and the actual projects that are being implemented and need your support.
